In addition, a clean truck is a truck that loses less of its value. You can’t afford not to keep your semi truck clean.

You could just pay to have someone else clean your truck, or you can save money by doing it yourself. Most experienced truckers know how to detail their truck. But there are a few tips that can help.

Big Truck Hoods, your source for aftermarket truck bumpers, offers these tips to cleaning your semi truck cabin.

Clean the Windows

Use a gentle window cleaner to clean both the inside and the outside of the windows. Newspaper works great as it removes stains better than cloth. However, you don’t want to use newspaper on tinted windows as it tends to remove the tinting.

Clean the Headliner

A lot of truckers forget to clean the headliner. Get a spray bottle and fill it with warm water and gentle soap. Spray down the headliner and use a soft cloth to wipe it down. Remember that headliners get dirty and need a good cleaning too.

Floor Mats

If your truck already has floor mats, good for you. If you do not have floor mats, go out and get some.

Floor mats go a long way in keeping your semi truck clean. And when they do get dirty, all you have to do is pull them out and spray them down with a hose.

Use Wet Wipes

Wet Wipes are a must for truck drivers as they are great for wiping down just about everything. If you use antibacterial wipes, you clean and disinfect all at once.

Treat the Leather

Leather seats must be cleaned differently than upholstered seats. For example, you need to spot check any leather cleaning product to make sure it won't stain. You should also use a very soft and clean cloth to prevent scratching.

Vacuum

Remove floor mats and whatever else is on the floor of your semi truck and vacuum it. Use the attachments to vacuum in tight corners and under the pedals. You can even use your vacuum and brush attachments to clean your dashboard. Just be careful not to damage any of the knobs.

Clear Out the Trash

Even after just one trip, there will likely be an accumulation of trash in the cabin. Trash can mean crumbs, beef jerky wrappers, sandwich bags and soda cans. If you don’t keep up with this, your cabin will begin to smell funky rather quickly.

After you have cleaned the cabin of your truck, pay a visit to Big Truck Hoods and replace that damaged fender.
