Semi Trucks Hoods and Awesome Trucker Movies

Semi Trucks Hoods and Awesome Trucker Movies

Bobby Shell |

Any list of the best type of movies is going to be disputed. For example, nobody will agree on the best horror movies, the best comedies or the worst movies starring Tom Cruise. On second thought, that category might be undisputed.

Lucky for you, there aren’t aisles upon aisles of trucker movies available to to choose from so picking out the best isn't going to be too difficult or controversial. And when we reference aisles and aisles of trucker movies, what we really mean is movies available in Netflix, Amazon, Hulu or any of the number of streaming services that have literally killed the video tape and video store industries. Thanks a lot for that.

But we digress. Big Truck Hoods, your source for semi truck hoods, offers you this awesome list of great trucker movies.

Duel

This is the classic thriller that put Steven Spielberg on the map, well on his way to a household name. The 1971 movie pits a terrified motorist against a psychopathic truck driver on a remote and lonely stretch of road. The 1960 Peterbilt truck used in the movie is still a tourist attraction to this day.

Breaker! Breaker!

Any Chuck Norris movie deserves to be on a top ten list. This is because all Chuck Norris movies are awesome, just like Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris, we get goosebumps just typing his name.

Chuck Norris stars as a trucker whose brother vanishes after taking on corrupt Texas police. Chuck Norris steps in and through the course of several fight scenes, he saves the day.

Smokey and the Bandit

Burt Reynolds character, Bo “Bandit” Darville, is hired by a wealthy Texan to deliver bootleg beer. Of course, things don't go as planned and he winds up being chased by a pesky sheriff.

Maximum Overdrive

What is so great about this movie? These five things:

  1. It is based on a short story by Stephen King
  2. It is directed by Stephen King.
  3. It’s soundtracked by AC/DC.
  4. It includes some pretty ruthless trucks ready to mow anyone down.
  5. It stars Emilio Estevez.
OK, four things.

Over the Top

Over the Top stars a buff Sylvester Stallone as a trucker on a mission to win back the love of the son he abandoned years earlier. He is also dreaming about starting his own trucking business should he win the big bucks promised in an arm wrestling contest.

If you are confused, watch the movie and take notes.

Convoy

Convoy stars Kris Kristofferson as a trucker who revolts against the powers that be with a convoy of misfit truckers.

The Road Warrior

Mel Gibson doesn't play a truck driver, but there is a scene with a truck. Look, there are plenty of cool rides in this movie that any trucker will appreciate.

Black Dog

Patrick Swayze plays an ex-trucker recently released from prison for losing control of his rig and killing a stranded motorist. There are some other plot things going on but all you need to know is that Meat Loaf plays the bad guy and Randy Travis teams up with Swayze. Good times.

Armed and Dangerous

There is only one reason to watch this movie: John Candy

White Line Fever

A young married man becomes a trucker and risks his life to fight the corruption that happens in most trucker movies.

High Ballin’

This is a Canadian film starring Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda who stand up to the local trucker boss who is, you guessed it, corrupt.

Any trucker out there is sure to love any of these movies. If you want to see a trucker movie, check out Netflix or Amazon. If you want to buy a grill for a semi, contact Big Truck Hoods.
